I met Dick once, though had heard him spoken about with great respect, at my first Residency at Vermont College in July 2005. I brought a few copies of my book, and a few CD’s of my comedy, to donate to the auction. Dick looked appreciatively at my book (an anthology with 12 authors, actually) and commented on it’s binding and cover. He did a great, funny job as the auctioneer, but got fatigued and had to rest part-way through. I felt very accepted and warmly welcomed by him. Those who got to spend more time with him, or study with him, are fortunate.
    peace be with you, Dick,

I'm not sure the best way to submit photos… My url is a link to a recent photo of myself with the statue of Dick.
